EAST Tutoring Program
Become a member of EAST's tutoring program now!
EAST has designed a tutoring program that is beneficial for both the tutors and their learning partners. EAST assists students who are majoring in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.
Tutoring:
- Improves academic performance
- Enhances self-esteem
- Develops social skills
- Improves classroom discipline
- Is cost effective
- Works for students with a wide range of abilities
EAST's Tutoring Model:
- Focuses on college students
- Focuses on math, science, writing and technology
- One-on-one and small group settings
- Flexibility and creativity to best meet students' learning styles
- Builds and affirms the reputation of the school within the community

EAST is funded by the National Science Foundation to increase the number and diversity of students with disabilities receiving degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and ultimately entering STEM careers in Maine.
